Leeds Queer Film Festival plans return in 2022!

6th March 2022

Dear LQFF community,

We're back!

A lot has happened since we were forced to cancel our 2020 festival, and along with everyone else we've been wondering when it would be safe to run an in-person event again... Given that things seem to be gradually returning to normal, we are planning to return to CLAY on the 20th-22nd May 2022 with a full programme of queer films and fun!

We are also planning a launch event on 20th April, so get that in your diaries! If you want to be the first to know more details, you can subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on social media for the latest updates.

It was gut wrenching to cancel the film festival in 2020, and we didn't feel we could safely run the festival in 2021. This year we are planning to run the festival in person, but with increased ventilation and slightly more distanced seating. We will recommend lateral flow tests and masks, but not require them - we will basically trust you to act sensibly to help make it safer for vulnerable people.

However, we recognise that not everyone will feel safe attending, so we are excited to have an option to view a selection of the films online, in collaboration with Leeds International Film Festival! We're still working out the details, but will post more here once we have them.

Looking forward to seeing you all again in person!
