About the event
The Aggressives
Dir. Daniel Peddle, United States, 1:15:00, English
Filmed in New York City between 1997 and 2004, this pioneering documentary follows a group of "Aggressives" – masculine-presenting AFAB queer people of colour. Marquise, Rjai, Tiffany, Flo, Octavia, and Kisha share their dreams, fears, and experiences within social spaces like the ballroom and club scenes. Over seven years, the film captures their humour, bravado and spirit whilst confronting evolving ideas around gender and providing an intimate exposé of this subculture.
